My background in pastoral care and the community
I have worked in pastoral care for over three decades. My background includes volunteering in a local school for 25 years and involvement with other community organisations. Alongside my private practice, I also work in a community counselling service.
This background is part of what I bring to meeting people as individuals. I draw on these experiences alongside my current counselling work in the community and private practice.
A person-centred, integrative approach
I see myself as a supportive facilitator. My approach is integrative and intuitive, with person-centred talking therapy at its heart. I aim to create room for you to explore your experiences and develop your own understanding, rather than to supply answers on your behalf.
I offer different ways of working because people communicate differently. You may prefer to talk, or want to explore whether drawing or play offers a more comfortable starting point. We can discuss suitability before beginning.
A welcoming space for different experiences
I’m neurodivergent, as are many of my family members, and I understand that navigating daily life can sometimes feel complicated. I welcome neurodivergent clients and am an ally of the LGBTQIA+ community.
I value empathy, honesty, acceptance and respect. If there are adjustments, communication preferences or questions that would help you feel more comfortable, you are welcome to raise them when enquiring.
The person behind the practice
I’m a mother of four and a grandmother. Away from my work, I enjoy caring for my grandchildren, travelling in my campervan and seeing live entertainment, from theatre to rugby. I have experienced life’s ups and downs, and I believe having supportive people around us matters.

An initial enquiry can be short. We can then arrange a phone conversation to discuss what you need, your questions and whether working together may be suitable.
